  bit of a letdown this year, normally a riot of colour and noise moving sedately along, tonight just caught the engine from a distance even though i had turned the sound down from the box so that i would know of its imminent arrival.

  thefireman do indeed do a lot for charity
  howard was wondering why they were so quiet this year when in past years they had the xmas music, xmas cheer

  keith rightly asks the question "why was it such a damp squib this year"?
  
  maybe they were wary of the road conditions?
  
  having said that they went past so fast it was impossible to get a picture and thrust a used oncer into the bucket.

  They were outside M&S last Friday so got my dosh then even though it was just the fire engine.

  it is very atmospheric normally with all the lights and music against the background of darkened streets.
  
  such a let down that it whizzed past like that, the little girl next door was looking forward to it.
