  excellent site tom i seem to remember you putting this on before.
  
  great films tucked away but one glaring omission is "sunset boulevard" which in my view is one of the all time great black and white films.

  howard,african queen was/is far better film.[i can remeber it in black and white.unless i was watching on a black and white tele. ]

  let's look at the facts brian.
  
  an african queen would have been black and the cast of the film mostly white, so it would have been in monochrome naturally.

  thanks for that tom the film is a must see has absolutely everything - great story line, acting, suspense and above all an incredible atmosphere to it.
  
  the leading lady (gloria swanson) was almost playing herself as she was a silent movie actress when suddenly the "talkies" emerged.
