Filming the Spitfire?

  I heard a droning sound overhead today but couldnt spot anything...it went on a number of times but now here we are in the last half hour I spotted this...
  
  They were very high up so pictures beyond the range of good quality but thought I would show them nonetheless and ask if anyone else saw them, and ask if anyone knows what was going on.
  
  

  

  
  
  The spitfire was swooping back and forth, diving and manouvering, so at a guess I would suggest the helicopters were film units doing the Battle of Britain thing over the White Cliffs. Always a good backdrop. Never a dull moment down here eh!?

  I saw them from the Market square around 13.30 this afternoon Paul, while the Dover Arts Development group were doing their thing on the big screen about the paper mill. I guessed they`d have probably gone by the time I legged it down there.
  Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

  looks like the harrier jump jet has had its card marked.
  
  looking at the proposed personnel cuts it reminded me of the time just after the falklands conflict.
  
  wait until the dangerous job is done then chuck out the traumatised service people.

  Saw this thread on DF and thought I'd let you know....
  Ken Wills' Skycharter company offer a 'Get Married in the Old Thatched Barn @ Farthingloe & Fly off on honeymoon accompanied by a Spitfire' package in association with the Spitfire's owners who are based at Duxford in Cambridgeshire but pick up people on this package from Manston and/or Farthingloe.   Yes this was 'Action Stations' with my mate on one helicopter enjoying his 40th birthday treat from all his friends.
  
  10 lucky souls got an 'eyeful of Spit' as close as Charlie brown the pilot could safely swoop around the helicopters.
  
  They passed through the airspace of the Capel memorial and then back to base, which due to dodgy crosswinds turned out to be Rochester rather than the planned Manston - so he did not get to check out the bird, although I think he may have a later chance to view the spit when thay fly again.
  
  Lucky so and so
  Oh Boy!, That'll be the day.........
