Some years ago the Childrens Film Foundation made a film called Night Ferry. It featured, among others , Bernard Cribbens. These films were initially made for the "Saturday morning" market. The CFF folded some time and the films were acquired by the British Film Institute.
Very slowly the BFI are releasing these on DVD. Night Ferry follows the story of some children who attempt to stop some villains smuggling a valuable relic out of the country. Trains feature rather a lot with initially south London suburban stock and finally the Night Ferry with Wagon Lits hauled by a class 73 loco. Also shown is an unrefurbished 4CEP (with curtains, very handy for cleaning the windows).
At the end of course the villains are caught at Dover Marine. This is the final shot.
If you wonder about my interest, the railwayman on the right is my father-in-law. Jim Keeler, he worked at the Marine and Priory for many years.

PS I've still got his gold braided hat!
