Fib/Dem Voters
- 21 April 2011 06:16102744According to todays press it would appear that the LibDems have lost 7 out of 10 of the young voters. A lost generation the press are calling it.
Another disgruntled LibDem MP Adrian Sanders turned on his leader Nick Clegg and called him 'opportunistic careerist' and said the party's image had been 'irrevocably damaged'.
Lib Dem supporters on the right, as well as left, are turning elsewhere. Of those 4.7 million abandoning the party, 2million said they would now vote Labour, 1.3million are undecided while the rest are refusing to vote or defecting to other parties
If Cleggs own party MP's don't appear to be backing Clegg how the hell does he expect the electorates to have confidence in them or him.

But then, the LibDems on their own could not have formed a government.

Roger - 21 April 2011 08:05102768I would agree that Clegg and the Libdems will most certainly have lost the young vote...and of course not just the young vote. Only yesterday on a whirlwind tour, Clegg was heckled by his own supposedly PR safe party people on a visit up north, didnt catch the town. But it was all filmed by the BBC and no doubt set-up for the BBC to show him in a good light with his own people, but it didnt go quite to plan...his own supporters in fact urged him to stand up to Cameron more, to fight his corner more, someone said he should be more like Uncle Vince Cable and say what he thinks.
Clegg smiled with a grimace...
The two guys mentioned mentioned above there have slipping stock value.

That the LibDems can abandon almost all of their principles overnight to prop up a party that they have no natural allegiance to says it all as far as I am concerned.
The passion has gone out of politics and been traded for self serving.

the best thing they can do now is to get rid of clegg when the next election is called and hope that they do not get too much of a trouncing.
they will then have 5 years to reengage with their supporters. - 21 April 2011 12:07102821I believe anyone in Nick Cleggs position would have done the same thing , im sure he will make plenty of money when he has finished with politics , im not sure he cares what people think of him , which is very conservative .

21 April 2011 16:39102863let's be honest the lib dems sold out very early, and i said at a very early stage this COBBLED TOGETHER GOVERNMENT would not go the full term, and not only will clegg not be able to hold his lot together, but also theres a lot of disgruntled tories out there at what the lib dems are getting away with.
