Whoops nearly missed that this was about dear old M&S.
Marks and Spenser are always interesting as somehow they are the cornerstone of day to day economics here in the UK. If M&S are having it hard then the chances are so are the rest of us, as all in all it is the favourite destination for our pound note. Our cosy store nationwide.
Therefore as we are all going through the hardest of times, with rising costs and devastating cuts, it is sure enough going to show on the M&S graph...and indeed it does. That tell tale red line heads downwards.
My dutch namesake ( with the extra L) tells of harder retail times ahead. We may just about push the final boat out for Christmas but it looks like our New Year is well nigh cancelled. Put the fireworks back in the attic, turn the gas off under the mulled wine. All is lost.
As Tom says there...there wasnt the same amount of fireworks bursting into the night sky this time round, so the populace are feeling the pinch.
Although having said all that we will muster up the bravado to have a bit of a Doverforum party this year. Reckless or what???...oooh I say!
