I refer you to the original post of this thread. I was on planning when the Channel tunnel was built there were lots of heated discussions .The channel workers site was to be at Aycliffee however Farthingloe was sacrificed but it was to return to its former glory. The history of Farthingloe is very interesting reading.Once you start building on the ANOB you weaken the case .Developers will make promises but they are in it for the money. Some Councillors were taken in by the carrot.I did not vote for the increase in numbers for the site which went against the Officers recommendation.
My concern is where will the children who live in these houses go to school?More cross town travelling.
Going back to the ANOB the valleys leading into Dover are beautiful why destroy what we have.
Yes it would be lovely to have improvements made to the Western Heights but not at any price.
Our MP was a young lad when all these former discussions took place. Some of us have long memories.
