01:1685088The Pride of Dover departed from Dover for the last time this afternoon (thursday). End of her service after 23 years and 35 million passengers. Gone to lay up in Tilbury and then sale or scrap. Her replacement, the Spirit of Britain, commences service in January.

01:3585093But why withdraw it from service before its replacement is operational, the delays to freight as a result are ridiculous.

08:4285104Well done with that report and pictures Ed. Very interesting to see her depart for the lat time. Guzzler may be they realised there wasnt another winter in her and sure January isnt that long to wait for the new one...the ship looks very old and had been looking a bit..well weather beaten.. but a new dawn awaits.

15:5085155Always sad when yet another ferry departs our port forever. Another fine ship confined to history.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.
