    WARNING ABOUT FAKE NOTES

Kent Police is warning members of the public in east Kent to beware that fake £20 notes are circulating in the area.

Officers are investigating a number of reports that young people are using them in Sandwich and could also be using them in Dover, Deal and Ramsgate.

Fake notes can be hard to spot and people are advised to check the feel of the paper, the raised print, metallic thread and watermark.

Retailers should also continue to use UV detector lights where available.

Further information is available from the Bank of England: http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/banknotes/Documents/kyb_lo_res.pdf
