I thought some of our football fans would have commented on this.Well I sat with anticipation as I have done for years. My husband loved the game.Well I think with time things have changed.First of all the make up of the teams keeps changing .I know Rooney and Carrick have been with Man United for some time but if it's not the players it's the Managers that keep changing.
The kickoff was late .The singing of Abide with Me was off key then the girl who sang the National Anthem how embarrassing was that.
With respect to His Royal Highness Prince William is not Prince Harry. Was he bored all is he naturally shy. When they do the line up why don't they give the little lads and girls a glance. Its a big day for them after all .
I thought Rooney behaved as a Captain should and is becoming a good leader.
Well rant over but it's not like the old days.
The FA cup doesn't have the same importance as it used to nowadays with a lot of big clubs playing weakened teams in the early stages of the competition. I missed the start and although it was a good game my attention wandered a bit. I didn't know they had brought back "abide with me".
Still on football I watched England beat Turkey 2 - 1 in a friendly earlier and thought the performance wasn't up to other recent displays. To me the players looked like they had finished a very long season which they had. Every major summer tournament since 1970 we have not lived up to expectations and in the last 10 years or so the overseas players have looked tired playing for countries too. We may not have the best league in the world but most certainly the most intense and physical and there is only so much the body and mind can take.
Hope II am wrong as the England squad is young and hungry and Vardy and Kane seem to have formed a partnership up front.
The numbers evened up Suzie when 1 of the Manchester United 'players' was sent off, but as you twigged up until then they had 11 players plus the referee's support.
