  Tilmanstone Colliery - Heritage Event, November 6 2011. 11am onwards, at Elvington Community Centre.
  
  Past and present residents are coming together for this event to display photos and memorabilia, of Colliery and Village life.
  
  Don't miss the unique film footage of the closing of Tilmanstone Colliery.
  
  also "Bygone Tilmanstone" set of two DVDs available, of the history of Tilmanstone Village (2 and half hours)

  What a wonderful exhibition it was at Elvington yesterday, SO many visitors all day and so much interest. The quantity of photographs and information and objects from and of the colliery was quite amazing.
  
  Well done to all the organisers, for such a successful event and for co-ordinating all the information. Not forgetting the ladies who worked hard on the refreshments all day.

  Kath is right it was a wonderful exhibition and I am looking forward to visiting this years which will be even better.
  
  Bring back those memories and maybe you might even bump into some old work mates as well.
