PORT OF DOVER EXERCISE
A major live multi-agency exercise is to take place at the Port of Dover on the night of Saturday 13th September 2014 through to the early hours of Sunday 14th September 2014.
Due to the nature of the exercise, the Port will be closed between midnight and 5am. Some mock explosions or sounds of gunfire (using blank rounds) may be heard and the Port and Kent Police would like to reassure everyone, particularly the local community and Port customers, that this is part of the exercise and is therefore not something to cause alarm.
You are advised to check with your ferry operator for any revised scheduling.

What they could do for a laugh is take no passengers on the last crossing, then let the Calais migrants storm the vessel letting them off at Dover to be greeted by the explosions and guns firing.
They will see the funny side eventually.
