Just been announced that now ex UK guys and girls who now live in some of the warmest countries abroad, can claim the winter fuel allowance!!!!!
you can understand that those uk residents living on the isle of man cannot claim the winter fuel allowance so you can understand the majority of people are against this new move.
the cost of this move could be up to £100 million!!
But I will tell you what has changed. The government is thinking of bringing in a temperature test that would stop it being paid to those in warmer climes.
So Keith - are you deliberately misrepresenting this or did you just not understand what is going on.
Don't forget this is only those expats who are retired. Who have paid taxes all their working lives.
It is a bit silly to give a heating allowance to someone in a hot country though.
(Dare I suggest something towards the air conditioning )
and whats that got to do with the heating alloance alex,i dont think that any expats are living in a war zone, but if there is they need there heads looking at.
