Even with 85%over seas players English football is rubbish
- 13 March 2014 22:42262236That is what I think after seeing club after club getting a hamming by overseas clubs.
English clubs over the pass 20years have gone over to getting oversea players and mangers and apart from costing the clubs all their funding it does not work.
So lets go back to basics and go for English players and mangerment playing in the UK leagues would be better and a lot less cost to the clubs yes we would be behind the rest of the world but we are anyway .The English clubs and the English team will not win a cup of anykind as we are today.
So lets go back to playing with English players and mangerment and it will catch up with the rest of the world at some point.It will also help to bring on our younger players and give them hope of making the big time.
- 14 March 2014 09:28262251Hoping to get a lot of your views on this one after seeing all the rubbish we are seeing English clubs playing overseas clubs how many English players to we see playing for overseas clubs? not many because we are not that good and paying £300,ooo for a English player that is not even the best of English players is mad.Our Rugby clubs are showing the way to do it for a lot less money and you are seeing 100% by the players.+they do not keep keep stoping and shouting foul.
- 14 March 2014 11:12262260We certainly are slipping down the European rankings, our top clubs are just not as good as they were, Germany and Spain rule now. I love Rugby Vic and get great pleasure in watching our National team singing the National Anthem loudly and to a man, something our footballers have long stopped doing, but professional Rugby is still in its infancy and the money is starting to talk there and is reflected in some of the top players crossing into the showbiz world and all the bad publicity that brings, it is not unusual now for players to disagree with the referee and this will get worse as the rewards and egos get bigger. Money is the rout of all evil as far as sport goes.Audere est facere.

- 14 March 2014 15:26262270i'm all for more home grown players but clubs don't seem to invest so much in youth programmes nowadays resulting in the national team manager having too few players to select from.
