No, not at all Howard. This needs to be looked at in the whole. Southern Eurozone countries were and are far worse hit because they were unable to allow their currencies to take some of the strain. We too would have fared much worse if we were Euro members. Growth figure for a single quarter are of no statistical relevance to this, indeed growth is not a major consideration for Euro membership, there are much more significant considerations anyway.
You had might as well suggest we should join with the Australian Dollar, after all they were not hit by the so called 'global' recession at all....
Euros are obtainable in the UK, Howard, one need only go to the bureau de exchange and purchase them. But if Britain were to have the euro as currency, it would mean ditching a whole lot of pounds
howard how can i resist an invite like that,as ive said before its better to be in than outside or sitting on the fence.the sooner were in the better.
thats right alexander we would be useing the euro,no need to go to the bureau de change to get some.
I didn't want to post this on the front page, but imagine a game of Monopoly, you land on chance, draw a card, and it says: go to Conaughts park. And it so happens you have to go to the toilet!
