Not true Alexander. They have massive reserves, but as always, enjopy an annual cull to boost profits further. The comapny has no sense of belonging to a community or loyalty to its workforce.
It was just the same in the P&O Normandy Ferries days. Some things don't change, and culture is one of them.
Some years ago I met a consultant who was hired to help the company senior management change the way they behaved towards the workforce etc. He was quite offended when I burst out laughing and told him it was a sham. Less than 18 months later we met up again and he confessed I was right.
You see the real problem wasn't a need for culture change, it was a need for the top brass to respect those who they were responsible for, and respect for their team is one thing they will never have.
