in this week's express there was an article about a chap trying to start a branch in dover.
he is doing this via the social networking site "facebook".
he certainly has some original spelling ideas, maybe a rival group could be set up?
the english language defence league maybe?
Hummmm. if we're talking about original spelling we can look to some of our forumites....

Agreed Diana

, spelling is not one of my strong points.

I thought the funniest thing about this was the Dover Express damning him on their front page for poor grammar and spelling, yet their main sports reports were littered with errors of exactly this sort as were a number of items on the inside pages.

Yes Ross, and they have reported with wrong pictures of places.
Yet they ridicule others.

The EDL are like the BNP, a bunch of refugee football hooligans.
They are less than nothing, even doing their own agenda more harm than good. Hopefully Dovorians have more sense than to get involved in any numbers. The last thing the town needs is more bad publicity over far right marches a-la the late 90s.

Welcome back Andrew. These people are best ignored, without the oxygen of publicity they will disappear.

In the past, careful proof-reading of newspapers as it came off the press, ensured correction of spelling and type errors.... not done now...

Thankyou Peter. I suspect The EDF get nowhere in Dover anyway.

Interestingly, while I was reading the report in the Express I noticed fresh stickers for the National Front stuck on the bus shelters in Pencester Road. As I tore them down I had to wonder because I thought they had been swallowed up by the BNP.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

quite remarkable to see all this agression against a french fuel supplier.
i shudder to think what would happen if doctor bob flogged the port to a french company.
