Empty properties

  we continually hear about how new housing is urgently needed but there are loads of empty properties around.
  
  this picture shows what looks like a couple of empty flats above the travel agents in market square, i don't remember them being occupied.

  I asked about this...to someone who is working in development and planning....looking at the empty flats and rooms above most of the shops etc in and around Market Street/King Street, indeed all around the retail trading area of Dover....
  
  The choice whether to let or not is with the Owners, you cannot make people rent out property.

  The flats above Barclays next to the travel agents used to be occupied by East Europeans but they appear to be empty now. The kids used to play around the Library area.

  i think this is part of the propsed house building.
  if there is a need to build, then these types of sites should be looked at first and brown field sites
