Empty plinth on seafront ----- new bandstand

  give dover a new bandstand for the jubilee - olympic year
  walking along the seafront on sunday it was busy and had a lot of vistors
  to get some music on a sunday afternoon would go down well
  after all how many times has the people gone to walmer or on the leas at folkestone for this sort of thing ?

  Always thought the bandstand was in the wrong place. Would have been better on the seafront rather than Pencester Gardens. Intrigued by the title to this thread "empty plinth" - perhaps we could organise something like Anthony Gormley's fourth plinth project in Trafalgar Square. Who could we nominate to stand on it? No nudes thank you ...

  I've said for a long time that the bandstand would be better in Granville Gardens, like it was for many years, as it could be a lot better used there

  We at least make good use of it in Pencester for the Armed Forces weekend, but yes, I do see some advantages for the seafront area though not necessarily for my event!!
