There is something about how we live and work, isn't there? I work miles away because that is where my type of work is. I guess I have chosen to live in Dover, because I love it here and because my family is now embedded - but even so, it is worth looking at how our working lives have evolved and why so many of us work at a real distance from home. Ditto schools - we are lucky (in some respects but don't get me started.......) that our children have attended and are attending local schools, but many are not so fortunate. There are times, I have to admit, though, that I wish we had gone with one option and paid for them to go to Canterbury. We agreed that they should go with their friends rather than schlepp to Kings. Socially they might have done well, but as for the rest.............hmmm..................
