    Why not put the benches back?
    As it stands it is an anachronism, a thing out of time and place, and removed from all utility. It is a Tram Shelter:the trams are gone, but can it not remain a shelter?
    It is a relic, in the same way that a retired truck driver is a relic. Nobody promotes the idea of dumping the ex-truck driver to some retreat to wile away the remaining years in objective dignity.
    Whatever money is or has been expended upon it has gone to hold back some inexorable tide of reality.

    Spend wisely, give the shelter back it's subjective dignity...let it be again what it once was...a shelter.
