Courtesy `Independent..
Educations great class divide....schools are becoming increasingly Socially Segregated and the Gove reforms are
hitting the poor pupils.
We have schools for the elite, schools for the middle classes and schools for the working class.Too few schools have
mixed intake where children learn life skills of aspiration, effort and persistance from each other.......................
The Cuts have affected the poor.....124 sure start centres have closed......cuts have increased free scool meals by
100,000..Library books have been axed in Primary and Secondary schools...........and Gove keeps saying schools have
the responsibility of educating our children ??.....
This conveniently enables ministers to evade responsibility of ``their`` policies..........

whilst i have to say it realy is questionable about the motives of the unons
and i do find it incredible the amount of holidays always enjoyed by teachers
apart from the rich, im unsure what other profession gets so many holidays.
that said it looks like gloom and doom on the books
nice though that unite are looking to settle in the other dispute
mr gove does appear to come over as very weak these days

Ah yes, childhood. What is that all about?!
Although way back when mother was at home, seven weeks kicking about was a little too long. I am sure there is much thinking and many proposals on this front out-with and far removed from Government planning. The answers are probably out there.
The terrible way Education has been handled by all in power over...my lifetime anyway... may help to instruct and improve thinking for the future.
Perhaps by adopting a life-long-learning model accommodation could be found for improvements in child-education by widening adult education. For both have to be done.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.
Indeed Tom. And if people could get over the concept of government as manipulators we could move even faster.......of course governments socially engineer! That is what education and taxes are for a start!! Proper education is one that encourages thought and growth, at any age. It nurtures and develops, expands and nourishes. It doesn't simply get us past exams or prepare us for work - it does much more than that. And we need to value all education all skill. To value people who care for and support others as much as we value the moneylenders would be a good place to start. Academic achievements and practical achievements are all required for a decent world.
