Eddie Cochran, one of the top rock n roll singer`s of the 50s, died 50 years ago this coming Saturday on 17th April 1960. On tour here from America, he tragically died in a car crash near Bristol. I`m sure a number of you out there may have heard of him, with hits such as C`mon Everybody and Summertime Blues, amongst other`s, and also appearing in films including, `The Girl Can`t Help it`. I have about 12 LPs of his, plus some singles, as he`s my all time R&R favourite. Rock on Eddie.

P.S. Any R&R fans out there?

One of the late greats Colin. I'm an entrenched fan. They tended to be short records but certainly got the party going.

Got a double album on which my favourite "Twenty Flight Rock" makes an appearance. I've got a lot of R&R greats on vinyl with my favourites being Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard. Never rated that Elvis bloke.

Eddie Cochran was great and I'm sure would have achieved greater success.
Apparantly he was more popular here than in the States.
I was only 12 when he died, but having older brothers, heard his music all the time and loved it.
When in Madrd a few years back I bought a boxed-collection of all his recordings - every single one; absolutely fantastic to listen to.
Certainly a different type of music to today's, really good, happy music to listen to.
If you weren't happy before, you sure would be afterwards.

Any of you who get the chance , go see Dreamboats and Petticoats in the West End. Features E.C. songs and many more from that era. Will have you bopping in the aisles.

Never mind 2 minutes of silence for respect, 200 minutes of his music which I`m sure he`d much prefer.

Sid, I think I`ll have a "Nervous Breakdown", or "Somethin` Else". So, "C`mon Everybody", enjoy the "Weekend". Great tracks Eddie!
