I had the pleasure (if that's the right word) of doing a magazine interview recently which went like this. I don't know why they haven't based a soap on that sort of thing
Magazine "Can we do an interview with you"? Me "Sure". Magazine "Ok well I'll ring you first thing tomorrow morning to confirm that" I'm wondering why they can't confirm today, now, during this call, but agree anyway. The following day the magazine ring at 5pm (I guess its still morning somewhere?!) Magazine "Ok we'll schedule the interview for 2pm tomorrow". Me (mentally running through a list of what I need to rearrange) "Yeah that's fine". 2pm tomorrow comes and goes as does 3pm and 4pm. The phone remains silent save for a couple of friends ringing to ask how the interview went. 4:30pm the magazine ring "Sorry I had an urgent meeting". Me "No problem" (spoken through clenched teeth.) Magazine "Can we rearrange for 2pm tomorrow?" Me "That'll be fine" (if I cancel my hairdressers appointment.) So 2pm.........2:15 pass. At 2:22 the phone rings. Magazine intern says "Hi.... ummmm.......this is Candy/Mandy/Sandy (delete where applicable it always ends in an 'andy'.) Ms Cantbearsed the editor said that she's............oooh I spilt my juice and it's bubbled up my nose innit, giggle, umm...she says....like ha ha ha...that stings............she will have to reschedule the interview cos' she's like.........I'd better blow my nose........I ain't got a tissue innit. Josh, you got a........oh never mind.......sniff.........can she call you at...... 2pm tomorrow sniff.........ello......Jeane... sniff..............hell........oh... she's gone innit".............. Indeed Jeane has left the building - innit!
