they have a title as long as their waiting lists.
anyway they were on local news earlier being taken to task for their record of having the 5th highest complaints against them in the country.
the right hon charlie was interviewed on the subject live outside the commons.
charlie excelled himself and even managed to twist the subject round to the importance of a hospital in dover.
top drawer stuff.
It was a good performance - I almost cheered when he got in the bit about Dovers hospital. And when challenged he responded so well. Even my Old Man - who despises politicians on principle regardless of hue - said he sounded as if he knew what he was talking about. Praise indeed if you knew my Old Man.

We are very proud of what Charlie is trying to do for Dover, but when taking on the NHS it's very much a David and Goliath situation, even for an MP.

I am sorry I missed seeing that tonight because of a council meeting, but I do not agree with what is being said about the E.K.H.U.Trust. Puting aside the Dover Hospital till later,I will tell you of the Trust Awards that the above Trust has won in 2011 note what I said Rewards meaning there are more than one.
(1) It won the Service Improvement Award, headlines under that award are Cancer Compliance Turnaround team, Chlamydia Moleclar Diagnostic Laboratory. E- rosterteam. + The Comunications and Finance teams won the 2011 Chairmans Award for developing innovative " After Dragons DEN programme-the events that give frontline staff the chance to pitch their ideas for improving their service +cutting the old red tape .
(2) They went on to win the Council of Governors Award,
(3) The award Customer Service Award.
(4) Patient Safety Award.
(5) The award for Working Together.
(6) The Trust Board Award.
(7) Support Service of the year Award.
(8) Research Award
(9) Healthcare Team of the YEAR aWARD.
(10) Consultant Teacher of the Year Award
(11) Healthcare Professional of the year.
They are just the headlines the report does give out more on each of the awards, but I do not have the time to write it all down.
We have one of the most careing Hospitals Trusts in the whole of the UK,it might even be the best,
Yes will still have to sit in awaiting room along time or it takes hours to get to and from the Hospitals, but that is the same with all the Hospital trusts in the UK unless you live in the Town or city where the Hospital are. I have no need to go over again about the Dover Hospital we are thinking the same on this one and it has all be said time after time, but it will come and I still think it will alot better than the one we have got and it will be build and open with parking within five years.
We also have one of the most compalined about Trusts in the country , the question should be , are those internal or external awards and how and by whom are they judged and what is the award criteria ?

that confused me too, i remember the gongs being handed out, in fact i started a thread on it.
i think vic is biased as he is on the board, i have mixed views on the services provided.
Re reading your post they sound like the internal awards that every trust gives at its AGM , rather than externally assesed / validated items

We also have one of the bigest Trust in the UK.Also the trust got the TRUST OF THE YEAR AWARD for 2010.And that put up by the Hospital Guide and that is a joint venture beween the Dept/ of Health and the healthcare information company Dr Eoster Holdings. The East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust was named both Foundation Trust of the year and overall Trust of the year. So you can now see there are always to sides to a story.
Howard I am sure that Vic will corect me but I dont believe he is on the board , but is a trust member as I am and in fact anyone can be ,
With one of the biggest complaints history in the country

Howard They do I have been a member for some time now I have had one to one talkes with some of the heads of the trust and the Chairman aswell and I find they are very caring and are trying to do a good job ,but again they have had their funding cut and staff going ,so it is not easy to give the service they and us should have.
