    Melvin is quite right in the context of funding for these projects. Money is the driving force, both what goes in(funding), and what comes out (return on investment).

    Perhaps the term 'green light' was a tad ambiguous in my earlier post.

    The context which was intended was the 'green light' approval by those that really matter, ie our community, the people who live and work with the disruption these projects cause. And whether or not the work was necessary and proportionate to the inconvenience and disrupt. IMHO these are the real and only 'key criteria' that matter to the people of Dover.

    Only too happy to clarify.

    Just a thought: Some of us won't buy green bananas any more, let alone seeing them wiz by outside our flat window en route to the Castle in that hair-brained cable car scheme.
