    The sums mentioned above are relatively small but may still be of concern if there is no accountability as to the need for such expenditure.

    At the risk of being silenced forever by the thought police, the somewhat larger issue of £375,000 of taxpayers' money being gifted over 2 years ago to a cause which, as yet, has provided nothing of demonstrable benefit to the people of Dover. Are they still looking at other properties, I wonder? Somehow I doubt it. What a shame there is no need to provide return on investment analysis.
