Fair point Brian with that sort of money in their bin they could splash on a couple of those blue benches that nobody can sit on.

If they close the toilets or don't take them over, it will be a political, rather than a financial decision. Probably if DTC and DDC were of the same political pursuasion, they would co-operate more.

How many times must one state that the toilets belong to DDC not DTC.
DTC have tried to provide toilets through the shop scheme, as well as pay x amount to DDC for services to Maison Deiu toilets

The town council should help on this one ,the main one sits on their own door step and the DTC has a lot more funds to play around with then the D.D.C sorry but this is the same as it was when I was on the DTC both councils find it hard to work with each other because one is red and one is blue it will be that way until both are the same party or until we see the end of the town council there is no need at this time to have two council that cannot work with each other costing the tax payer a mint .Just to keep a red flag showing.

Sheila,if ddc have handed them to dtc as reported then its dtc's remit to keep them open.and not ddc's.

Exactly Brian; but if DTC won't accept that for political reasons, they won't keep them open.
Sheila's comment shows it's political and not for the benefit of the townsfolk or visitors; it's a case of stuff DDC and the people and I always thought that it was a case that those elected, were servants of the people - seems rather hollow doesn 't it ?

By belong I guess you mean they own the buildings, I do not care who owns them most of us are more interested in who runs them and that I understand is the increasingly useless DTC.

When the issue first arose of the future of public toilets in the district all other town and parish councils came to an agreement with DDC and took over the running of them, just Dover town council that hasn't reached an accord.

True and never will do time they went and the £600.000 or more put back in the pot for the real public and not just to give the reds a very small amount of power and also that would get rid of a town clerk that is not working for the town or the public infact not even her own council.

There's around twice that figure Vic. As Brian said, they have a tidy sum to spend, just depends on what - certainly not for our benefit: seats not for normal people to sit on only drunks; toilets, you could say the same I guess.

Also they have a lot of ground and hill sides around Dover time they were called to say what are they spending the public money on and why are they holding on to a million pounds in the bank when they should be spending it on the town.

I would blow my top if I found out it was being used for towing that.
