Drunks clogging up A & E

, when in my early twenties I can remember being drunk in public and was so embarrassed the following day I never got in that state again.
There does not seem to be the stigma attached to being drunk in public as there was then so I doubt anything will change in the near future, many now seem to go out with the aim to get drunk-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Many of our younger citizens are inebriated before they leave the house for the evening yet arrests for drunken behaviour are about a quarter of what they were a few years ago.
Many town centres are no go areas on many evenings of the week and the situation will only worsen with more cuts in police numbers. I feel sympathy for those genuine patients in A & E and for the staff who have to put up with yobbish behaviour. - 28 December 2014 19:58276299Yes the trend to pre-load on alcohol before going out is contributing to this (supermarkets use alcohol as a loss leader) but also the refusing to serve has reduced as bars/pubs etc struggle. The whole attitude to drinking has changed a lot, there are much fewer social/local pubs and it is more a case of getting blitzed.

- 29 December 2014 21:35276326It is not one place to blame but a mixture of social and economical issues that combine and are not addressed jointly or done half measured. As I put fewer social/local pubs which I should of added that are more responsible and considerate unlike some establishments, so not blaming the pubs.
