ear splitting stuff outside my house tonight, hoards of teens some maybe younger under the influence of bacchus.
assume that it is from our community centre that only hires out to adults and with a big deposit for drinks parties.
who are the parents that ply their kids with drinks and leave them in such a state?
saw 3 scantily clad girls wobble off in high heels down the road clutching glasses and giggling, looked not much over 12.
words fail me.

The neighbourhood where I live, Howard, just down the road from you, has a bike sticking upside down in the middle of the pavement, with the back wheel missing.
Last night, on returning from work, I moved it from the middle of the pavement to the railing, out of danger's way, and this afternoon, there it was again upside down in the middle of the pavement of Folkestone Road!!!
I'm going to see if it's still there, I'll move it back to the railing again, but someone seems hell-bent on puting it back in the middle of the pavement for someone else to fall over in the dark!

the plot thickens alex, about 20 minutes after i posted i went outside to see what was going on and a lady policeperson was at the end of my gate and explained that the party was by invitation only and they had now removed the uninivited.
she enquired if i was o.k. of course i said yes as i was rather impressed by the speed and effectiveness of the response.
just after the police left it was incumbent on the adult females all clad in miniskirts to sit collectively on the kerb and behave rather loudly.
we have all heard the song "just a song at twilight" this was just a thong at midnight.
the bill were present but could not do much under present guidelines, policing now is more about not upsetting the community.
anyway i thought to myself i will march down clarendon place to enquire why so much noise was going on, there was a group of people gathered around a range rover, i went across and just stared at them whereupon one young gentleman asked "if i was alright".
i replied that i would be if he took his greasy mitts off of my jam jar.
the assembled throng then went into a thrall of respect that i should own such a magnificent vehicle, will recount the dialogue to my fellow
bus passengers on the morrow.

That range rover, Howard, I gather is yours. On this part of Folkestone Road the most commonly parked vehicles are prams, just off the pavement.
I wondered to myself what would happen if the dustman carted them all off one early morning

Howard
I went down and see the police lady, and said I would enter the hall and shut the party down, but she assured me that the youths were not from the party, they were trying to gate crash, but the person that had booked the hall had it under control and was doing a good job, there is another party booked in November, any trouble give me a ring, you know I am strict on the rules, don't want it getting out of hand like it used to, (remember 3o'clock one morning) standing outside trying to get the party goers to clear of home so we could close the hall, don't get that now, if it ever gets like it again, the deposit will go up even more, people will learn

Howard you be careful when confronting young people who are fuelled with alcohol or drugs in a group, it is a lethal combination.

the lady police officer did sort out the gatecrashers, it was the adults mainly that behaved badly much later on.
the first bad party for a very long time, hope you keep the deposit.
martin
surprise is always a good weapon, they usually sober up and calm down after a few words i find, not so with the police who have to put up with a lot of rubbish spouted at them, must be the uniform.
