    Oh the threats

A few months ago, if we cannot dredge the Goodwins, we will fill the town with lorries transporting aggregate from the mouth of the Thames.

Now, if we cannot dredge the Goodwins, we cannot rejuvenate the Town of Dover. Really, Dover Harbour Board has never, ever, had the interests of Dover Town, and District, within its remit.

They have cocked up the Cruise business, coming into Dover Harbour, with their greed and high fees. The ferries cannot move, they are sitting cash cows. However, the Cruise business can turn the ships around, and go elsewhere. This they have done, only 90 odd this year and most of those are Port of Call and non-landing turnarounds.

That indeed, is robbing the Town, of good income and input.

Last time I looked we have a Harbour, which is accessible by Sea to anywhere, and anything.

They, the Dover Harbour Board, might well have to accept that the Goodwins are not available anymore. Why? with all the experts, and Community Directors, all well paid, cannot come up with alternatives is amazing.

DHB still haven't explained why getting their sand from a proper commercial dredging site will jeopardise jobs - though it might make a dent in the pockets of the fat cats at the top!

Dover and its long suffering people, will always find employment.

They certainly do not rely on the Dover Harbour Board anymore.

Who have contracted out, all employment anyway.

What an empty threat to make.
