Many people moan about our history and why is there nothing here but history. Dover is an historic Town and should promote this much more - there are a number of sites that are crying out for more visitors and run by hard-working volunteers: Dover Transport Museum, Western Heights, Crabble Corn Mill, Roman Painted House are just 4 of them.

They all do their best and should be lauded for their efforts to maintain and promote the sites they work so hard for.

WCCTA are now worrying about changing their name - a name change won't make them more efficient and more useful to the historic sites and attractions here.

I know it sounds like an old record, but I have sent the new Chairman of WCCTA my Tourism Strategy and I haven't even received an acknowledgement - or even a thanks but no thanks.

The local tourism industry is crying out for change, better support marketing and they're worried about what to call themselves.

If we had a successful tourism body, we would have much better visited sites and they in turn have have more footfall and income.
