I try to stay out of this kind of posting, but would just like to point this one out,as a x town cllr, the Dover Town council is a well off council with avery good bank account, and yes they do hand out funding to lots of groups in Dover, and if it was not for the town council alot of groups would find it hard to keep going, but I still think that they could still find funding for new Christmas lights, they have done it before.

And I also think that local business,s are not that well off even the big ones, and asking shops in the town to help is a no,no, with all the rates, business taxs etc and toped with poor trade,as a town we are lucky they are still there.
Christmas is one of the few times in the year that they might make afew bob to help keep them going, but if the Town Council does not go ahead with Christmas lights ,familys will go to towns where there are some ie= Canterbury and do their Christmas shoping, this is trade that the shops in Dover must have to help them in the following year.
