A friend has reminded me of one treasure that might come to light. It is a brass latter 'C' from the stern of the cross-channel ferry Canterbury (1929-64). As she was being towed out of the Wellington for scrapping in Belgium on 30th July 1965, a hawser from one of the tugs dragged across her stern catching the letter which flew into the air landing with a great splash in the dock.
