At last week's Deal Town Council there was a presentation from the Local Food Banks in which councillors were informed that over 27% of Dover children are living in poverty.
A number of councillors almost fell over each other offering their unclaimed allowances to the Food Bank! It will be interesting to see if the Food Bank sees the colour of their money.
My own view was that having seen the tubby little buggers clogging up our town centres over the half term, stuffing their fat faces with fast food and grunting to each other on expensive mobile phones, if this is poverty then I'm a Dutchman'.
(Though not being totally cold hearted I
always throw a packet of condoms into the collection bin in the supermarket)
