    Jack that was an emergency timetable and is permitted under DfT rules.

    My understanding is that it is only in the last fortnight that Southeastern have reached agreement with their works council over the schedule etc for when the line re-opens.

    The major issue with the line to Folkestone is the clay layer under the track bed at The Warren which is causing the track bed to slide, whilst remedial work was carried out last year, all parties accept that this will only temporarily mitigate the problem, As for the catch fencing, this is the same stuff they use in the Alps so perhaps it will hold if there is a chalk fall...
