So let's get this right then.

Having spent £44 million rebuilding the line between Dover and Folkestone the 'investment' is written off by closing the line and

    1. Building a brand new station somewhere near Guston to serve a couple of thousand people living some distance away in Whitfield.

    2. Spend money on upgrading Kearsney Loop as well as putting in a complete new connection with points and necessary signalling between Canterbury West and Canterbury East lines.

    3. Requiring separate trains to connect Folkestone and Dover to London Terminals including HST from St Pancras.

    4. Either stopping HST service to Dover if using Kearsney loop OR doubling up services to cover both Dover and Deal OR requiring Deal/Sandwich HST to visit Dover before driver changes ends and takes train to St P via new connection west of C'bury ALL reducing both financial viability of service we have finally got and USP of train i.e. that it is errrrrr 'high speed'.

The mere fact that any of this is supported by DDC should indicate the lunacy of the plans.
