    That is true but how would you solve the tunnel?

    It is a Victorian wet tunnel with two single bores, the central supporting wall cannot be removed to widen the tunnel and the track alignment has already been shifted as far off centre as possible to allow a "safe" route alongside a stationary train.

    Oh and they used to run 12 car sets through the tunnel but with a single on board manager had to ask people to move from the rear 6 to the front 6 carriages at Folkestone Central and then allow people to use the rear 6 from Dover onwards - a royal pain in the proverbials for everyone
