I didn't get down there this year. What was the problem?
The only thing I have ever objected to in recent years has been the French market: Just because someone sells olives from terracotta bowl, it does not give them the right to charge £5 for 10 olives.

rather an unfortunate appraisal from paul in my view, volunteers did a great job in getting a show at all with a float of about 30 bob.
from what i saw throngs of people thoroughly emjoyed it.

Usual negativity one would expect - someone registers on the forum to make one post that derides those that put so much effort into making the Regatta a success, particularly given the limited resources available.
I think the seafront is probably a better place without the likes of PAULDOVER55 in attendance...

I do not believe the opening post is worthy of a polite reply, I take it he is one of those sideline complainers.
Howard, how is it that this new member does not have to use his proper name like the rest of us?????????

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Keith the Council didn't do it,when it was first set up there was a Council input and money, then it went to a private company and the Council did help fund some of it,on a grant that was decreasing every year.

Let me change the wording john
when the 2 day event took place, it was well supported and was a great 2 days
for whatever reason that has slipped which is a shame as it was a good advert for Dover

I thought it was a very good community-based event that brought together many local groups. DHB and the Dover Community Safety Partnership took the lead on organising the event and they, along with the many volunteers, are to be congratulated.
