  £5.00 is a bit steep for such a short journey Colin.
  
  Generally, there's plenty of taxis (and buses) if they are going to the cruise terminals or guest houses/hotels.
  There could/should be a new bus stop there , but again, by the time the bus has gone down Ladywell, Maision Dieu and Pencester, you would have walked it.
  
  Better signs would certainly help and with this volcanic ash disrupting air-travel, someone at the port or station should have thought about laying on more/some buses.
