  There are masses of old Dover postcards on eBay just now, found an interesting one of the"Patria" on fire, bidding ends in 2 days (one bid so far).
  
  "GRUSS AUS HAMBURG -- HAPAG LINER PATRICA ON FIRE 15-16 NOVEMBER 1899 AT DOVER......THE POSTCARD WAS POSTED LATER THAT MONTH !!!
  IT SAYS THE PICTURE IS PRODUCED FROM AN EYEWITNESS ACCOUNT."

  interesting kath - was an atlantic liner so what happened to the passengers and crew when it run aground?
