I was talking to someone today who said that there are 3 Dover Patrol Memorials. The one at St. Margarets, one is just oustide Calais and there's one at New York - does anyone know why New York ?

Just found this:
On the English side, you can see a striking monument to the Dover patrol which was unveiled at Leathercote Point overlooking St. Margaret's Bay in 1921. Identical monuments were built on the French coast at Cap Blanc Nez, and in new York harbour to commemorate the work of French sailors and the US Navy in protecting the Channel shipping lanes.
