Pity English Heritage are not willing to participate in or become a proper part of the Dover community and remain in splendid fortified isolation up on the hill

Yes, it is sad that they don't feel they want or need to be a part of the Town.
There is an initiative to connect the Town to the Castle and Vice-Versa, which includes the cable-car, but I believe we shouldn't have to wait that long. I also think that any initiative would have to come from Guildford rather than locally.
