  Used to happen like that in my neck of the woods but nowadays we seem to get a fairly regular visit from someone with a litter picker who does a good job. The only problem seems to be with communications at Veolia, a tied up bag of litter is left on a street corner to be collected by a vehicle that doesn't always turn up and the local wildlife have the chance to undo all the work.
