not starting officially for another two weeks but some traders have taken advantage of the nice weather and set up stalls this morning.

Good to see it starting up again, shows the traders are still interested.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Funny how you often notice things in photos which you miss in real life, there is a huge blank space on the wall (End of building) top right of the above photo. Would this not be a great pace for a really colourful mural of Dover?

I was thinking the same thing yes it would look nice, and Roman in all his gear and sword.

Others have also thought of this - DDC have said that repainting the wall, which sits at the edge of the conservation zone, requires planning permission. This came after the owners were served with a 215 and went to remedy the situation as ordered.

sounds good, should planning permission be granted money would need to be found to pay for the scaffolding.
maybe big local could get involved?

Years ago there was a painting of a Roman soldier on that wall advertising the adjacent Roman Painted House.
A mural would look spectacular. Something along the lines of the excellent one on the outside of the Arrivals Hall in the Eastern Docks:

And it's back to the Middle Ages with Keith Bibby, the good old days when no-one travelled beyond the Parish Boundary and all troubles were blamed on 'them outsiders'...
Sort of sums up UKIP and its supporters really.
