  There are as many arenas of employment
  as there may be circles down in hell
  in each is scope for innocent enjoyment
  and japes and capers more than I can tell
  many a bodger has had his leg pulled
  several butchers made subject of a roast
  sundry shepherds had their eyes wooled
  and they all to chicanery have played host
  
  Not all of what goes on is even humoured
  oft times there is cruelty as well
  great harm's about, as is widely rumoured
  upon this its not so wise to dwell
  as much ribaldry makes usage of stooges
  playing-off folk is where such jests do come
  turning loving carers into infernal refugees
  I ask you,
  who would be a costermongers' mum?
