It certainly is a good, but very sad, read.
With everything (apparantly) at rock-bottom, people will steal anything and everything to make some money. Reminded me a bit of images of those people on scrap-heaps in Africa and other places, trying to find something they can use or sell.
The difference is of course, that they have no welfare system in Africa or India, so we shouldn't be THAT poor.
I hope Richard, that you can raise your initial £200,000 and then the real work begins - to move and then rebuild it.

Thanks Howard and Roger. Those engaged in the theft of materials are certainly onto a winner. When the police ask who owns it -the answer is 'nobody' -then what can they do?
Our Teesside director John Coates is fast becoming a kind of local folk hero. All due credit to him for raising local awareness.
As soon as we take possession of the vessel(not long now) we start the big funding push and hopefully get some kind of enforceable site security.

How do you then claim ownership Richard ?
Good Luck on the funding application; with the opportunity for young people to learn various skills during its refurbishment, it should be accepted.
