Preparations for the installation of the new lockgates in the Wellington Cut are well under way.

The outer lockgates (new marina side) are arriving in two deliveries, the first today on two heavy load lorries from 'up north' have been moved to the eastern side of the lock. This night-time photo shows them being taken along Townwall Street. All the way to the Eastern Docks roundabout and back along Townwall Street and into Marine Parade and construction site via Wellesley Road.
February will see the arrival and installation of the other set of gates at the Wellington Dock end.
