The eagerly awaited bascule bridge that will span the new Wellington Navigation Cut and lock arrived from Ghent courtesy of Dutch tug 'Catharina 11' on 11 December 2018.
The following day (12th) the recently arrived on site BALDWINS Heavy Lift Crane was in situ to lift the bridge into place, watched by local enthusiast and others from as far away as Hull together with local press in attendance.
The crane required sets of counter-balance weights before the lift could begin
Further bridge supports remain on shore ready to be lifted into position
