No ,this is not an article related to the recent comments made by a local councillor but one I heard of yesterday at the Gorey Fete.
During the recent tragic news of the stabbing of two families on Jersey the local newspaper ,Jersey Evening Post, sold out and they have sold out of advertising space. I posted a link to the Dover forum stating how my friends in Dover were following events and expressing their condolenscences to me, my family and Jersey residents this was picked up by a local journo who was amazed at how popular DF was and how many hits it had. She even said that her friends who had recently moved back to Dover area were now avid readers of the DF.
How mighty the pen.....well keyboard and digit

Indeed Marek. A great and a sobering thought.

Keith comments that it "just shows how wide the forum goes" - it's on the "world wide web", Keith. The clue is in the name!

Agreed Keith.
I also hope the Jersey population are beginning to come to terms with that awful event.

My nephew who is the newsdesk editor had to go into the office at 11pm to cover last nights church memorial service. They , JEP, have actually ditched front page advertising as they feel the story is more important than the revenue space.

Wow!! That level of ethics and response really is impressive. I can only admire that.

Howard
There was a Jersey Forum which was not very active but since the recent tragic events its gone off air. Reasons unknown. All a bit odd.

Not sure they appreciate my type of humour and are not as easy going as Dover Forumites. One thing I have noticed is that they appear to be fairly homophobic and if a guest requires advice on a how to work live or even visit Jersey they tend to be unhelpful always advising ''don't bother unless you have pots of money''.
The island is always introducing stricter immigration, most good jobs are only available if you have been legally resident on the island for 5 years Rented accommodation is split into categories qualified ie A -J long term or native islanders or non-qualified ie new to the island. The latter being more expensive.Rents start about £1200 per month for a 1 or 2 bed flat then add about £200 per bedroom per month after that etc.No dole ,no benefits for new or casual transient workers.
Anyway have a nosey for yourselves

You will note that oddly there is nothing on the forums about the recent stabbings...odd or what?

Blimey! It is described as 'spacious' too so assume the other rooms are not in proportion to the kitchen.

sounds like the authorities want to kick the story into touch as quickly as they can worried about the effect on tourism.
i don't think events will have a negative effect, it all seems about a normal bloke who when the balance of his mind was disturbed went beserk.
tragic but could happen anywhere.
